On our most recent Disney World trip, I discovered one of the coolest amenities I have yet to use; the laundry room. Typically we stay at a DVC resort where the laundry services is in room, but this time we stayed at a moderate resort. We know there are always laundry rooms available to use on property but this was the first time to use it at the Walt Disney World Resort. I must say, the service was impressive and so convenient.

No More Waiting

Not sure if the laundry room is busy? You can check availability of laundry machines by visiting the Laundry View website and selecting the laundry room building you want to use at your resort. It shows you a digital layout or list view of the laundry room and color codes which machines are in use, out of order, idle or available. It also lists estimated finish times. If you are a true nerd, you can view the weekly stats and see what are the busier or popular times that guests use the machines.

Walt Disney World - Doing Laundry

Laundry Facilities at Walt Disney World Resorts

Most facilities are located near the quiet pools of the resort. When you arrive at the laundry facility, you will need to use your Magic Band to enter the room. Once inside, you can purchase laundry soap and a snack at the machines, but you can only pay with debit/credit card, Magic Bands do not work. You can purchase one-time use laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets. Disney has Ares Green Laundry Detergent Free & Clear which is fragrance free. As of 2017 the cost for use of the machine is $3 and a pack of laundry soap is $1.

Magical Laundry!

You don’t have to wait around for your laundry to be finished. You can use the Laundry View website to check your laundry status. Or if you prefer, you can also request a text message alert to be sent when your laundry is done. Talk about magical laundry!

Have any of you tried the service? What did you think?
