Once Upon a Date: April 5, 1938 – Tokyo Disneyland opens its doors

On April 5, 1938 Tokyo Disneyland opened its doors. Tokyo Disney Resort was the first Disney theme park outside the US. While the park was constructed by WED Enterprises, it is owned by The Oriental Land Company which licenses the theme from The Walt Disney Company.
