Hong Kong Disneyland will kick off the castle’s transformation following the finale of the “Disney in the Stars” Fireworks on January 1, 2018.

The transformation of the castle is part of a larger multi-year development which will last until 2023. The works on the castle should last until somewhere in 2019. An exact date is not known yet. It is also no clear how this will impact any guests visiting the park. It is the first time a Disney park is completing major works on a castle, as such it is unclear how guests visiting Hong Kong Disneyland will be impacted.
