Review: Hyatt Regency Paris – Charles de Gaulle
The Hyatt Regency Paris – Charles de Gaulle, is a four star hotel located just south of the airport consists of 388 rooms and suites and plenty of amenities for both the savvy traveler and families. We recently stayed here when we visited Disneyland Paris for Disney’s Magical Fireworks and Bonfire.
We booked the cheapest room because we knew we would not be in the room much but upon check in the agent upgraded us to a King bed corner room. I don’t think there is much difference in the room but rather more area space to move around.
The room offered a good deal of amenities including mini-bar, safe, glasses and cups for the coffee and tea tray. The bathroom included shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion along with a few beauty items. In the main living space stands a large cabinet for your luggage and clothing. I do find it odd that it’s not a built in unit, but nonetheless, it was setup well for the traveler. The cabinet included drawers to put clothes and plenty of hanger space along with an ironing board. A nice addition to the room were the robes and slippers.
The desk was nicely setup with plenty of space for working or laying out all of your items. There was a charging port with three outlets that you can put away into the desk if not needed.
Having stayed at more basic hotels that provide mass produced breakfasts, we were quite welcomed at Hyatt with a plethora of fresh breakfast items. The standard cereals, bread and cheese are available as well as traditional Asian breakfast items such as rice, seaweed, noodles and more. The warm food section also offers sausage, bacon, tomatoes, potatoes and a made-to-order counter for eggs. A big hit with the kids and kids at heart were the small pancakes that you could top with maple syrup or nutella.
We did not have time to enjoy the extra amenities of the hotel but guests can enjoy a large indoor swimming pool which is opened from 5am – 11pm or the 24 hour fitness center. We also saw a sign posted offering a weekly outdoor run in the evening. Wifi is included in your stay both in the lobby and in your room.
A 24-hour open pantry is available with snacks, drinks and other amenities you may need. The price for drinks are half the cost as the mini-bar and are quite reasonable.
Parking is outdoors on the property and you must enter and exit through a gate. The cost per 24 hours is 19.90€. We booked the park and fly rate that included breakfast and saved that way.
A free shuttle service to and from the airport is available everyday. The schedule can be found on the hotel website or you can contact the hotel to confirm pick up times.
Getting to Disneyland Paris
It is up to you if you find driving to the park everyday is worth it as it is about a 35 minute (40km) drive. It was fine for us one night but depending on who you are traveling with this may be a better option for your first night arrival or last day departure if you are flying through Charles de Gaulle.
Often we find that a name brand located at or near a hotel is always a little subpar with upkeep and amenities, but this Hyatt held its ground with overall cleanliness, welcoming staff and a great decor throughout the property.
