Waterbehoud in Disneyland Parijs

Nu de zomer snel nadert, is waterbesparing meer dan ooit een topprioriteit voor het milieu. Deze vitale bron – die een sleutelelement is van de ervaring die Disneyland Parijs biedt – is ook een integraal onderdeel van de magie, omdat het ons in staat stelt om voor onze groene ruimten te zorgen, de biodiversiteit en lokale ecosystemen te behouden, de siervijvers te vullen, enz. Ze richten zich al een aantal jaar op verantwoord beheer van waterbronnen en moedigen gasten en Cast Members aan om eenvoudige gebaren te maken in hun dagelijks leven.

Disneyland Parijs, het eerste themapark in Europa dat sinds 2013 is uitgerust met een eigen afvalwaterzuiveringsinstallatie

• De zuiveringsinstallatie bevindt zich in de backstage gebieden van het resort en verzamelt en behandelt dagelijks tot 3.500 m3 afvalwater van de parken, het Disneyland Hotel en Disney Village. Het gezuiverde, schone water van hoge kwaliteit dat door dit proces wordt verkregen, wordt vervolgens gebruikt om paden schoon te maken, de golfbaan en bloemperken te besproeien, siervijvers te vullen en de energiecentrale te koelen.
• In 2018 werd de fabriek de thuisbasis van een innovatieve technologie die helpt om het fosforgehalte in gezuiverd en gezuiverd water te verlagen.

Hier zijn enkele belangrijke cijfers over de afvalwaterzuiveringsinstallatie:

• Sinds 2013 is meer dan 4 miljoen m3 drinkwater bespaard
• Drinkwaterverbruik tussen 2012 en 2022 met 24% gedaald
• Per jaar wordt meer dan 300.000 m3 drinkwater bespaard, wat gelijk staat aan 120 Olympische zwembaden.
• Bijna 50% van het afvalwater van de parken wordt door de fabriek gezuiverd.

Verantwoord beheer van groene ruimten

Landscaping teams maken gebruik van verantwoorde besproeiingspraktijken om overmatig waterverbruik te voorkomen en blijven werken aan het terugdringen van watergebruik door technologische systemen te verbeteren en zorgvuldig de soorten planten en bloemen te selecteren die worden geplant.

Aanvullende maatregelen worden genomen om onze inspanningen voort te zetten

Alle douchekoppen en toiletspoelsystemen in het hele resort worden vervangen om waterverspilling en -verbruik te beperken.

Gasten die in de Disney Sequoia Lodge verblijven, kunnen de Hydrao douchekoppen gebruiken, die ontworpen zijn om het waterverbruik te verminderen. Ze zijn in 2022 in enkele hotels van het resort geïntroduceerd en hebben het tot nu toe mogelijk gemaakt om de hoeveelheid water die in douches wordt gebruikt met 22% te verminderen ten opzichte van eerdere systemen. Dit nieuwe systeem wordt nog getest omdat we het gebruik ervan willen uitbreiden.

Om de leegstaande ruimtes volledig te benutten, worden er nieuwe oplossingen ontwikkeld voor het optimaal opvangen en opslaan van regenwater, dat vervolgens wordt hergebruikt in de badkamers van de verschillende gebouwen in de backstagezones.

Gasten en Cast Members informeren en bewust maken om hen aan te moedigen best practices toe te passen

• Gasten die in de hotels van Disneyland Paris verblijven, worden bewust gemaakt van de acties die door het resort worden ondernomen.Bij hun aankomst in de hotels krijgen ze advies over hoe ze het waterverbruik kunnen verminderen.
• Cast Members worden regelmatig geïnformeerd over de maatregelen van het bedrijf, vooral tijdens interne bewustmakingsevenementen. Geef ze aanbevelingen en advies over eenvoudige gebaren die op de werkplek en thuis kunnen worden toegepast.
• Waterbesparing is een van de belangrijkste onderwerpen tijdens de rondleidingen die worden georganiseerd om jongeren en lokale gemeenschappen kennis te laten maken met de wereld van tuinarchitectuur en de bijbehorende carrières.
