Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands

Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands debuted during the Lion King and Jungle Festival in 2019. The show has its home in the newly renovated Frontierland Theater which was completely demolished and was rebuilt to provide guests attending shows a better view of the theater.

Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands

Is a musical stage show, with drummers, dancers, acrobats and singers. Favorite Lion King Characters also appear on the stage to tell you in about 30 mins the story of Simba and how he became the Lion King. Disney describes the show with the following text:

Answer the call of the wild! Like thousands of awestruck Guests before you, ‘be prepared’ to roar along to the beating drums and hypnotic rhythms as a tribe of dancers, acrobats and singers dressed as Rafiki, Simba, Timon, Pumbaa, Nala, Mufasa and Scar brilliantly bring famous Pride Rock moments to life before your very eyes. All in a magical way that only Disney can do.

Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands through the years

Because of the Corona Pandemic and Closure, Disney’s Lion King and Jungle Festival were canceled in 2020. Nonetheless Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands was scheduled to be available as a stand-alone offering. While the show premiered and had performances for a week, from the second week on, all performances got canceled. On Tuesday, Sept 8, it was announced that Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands would not return for the 2020 season.

The show will be returning to the Frontierland Theater on Oct 23, 2021.
