Disneyland Paris completerà la fase finale del più grande impianto europeo per la produzione di tettoie solari entro la fine del 2023

L’impianto a tettoia solare in costruzione a Disneyland Paris dal 2020 produce già 27 GWh di energia e produrrà 36 GWh all’anno una volta completato alla fine del 2023. Questa iniziativa fa parte delle azioni del resort per l’ambiente, a sostegno degli obiettivi ambientali di The Walt Disney Company per il 2030. Per quanto riguarda Disneyland Paris, alcune aree che guidano le azioni e i progetti includono le emissioni, i materiali, i rifiuti e l’economia circolare, la gestione dell’acqua e la biodiversità.

Emissioni: 46,2% di riduzione nelle operazioni dirette (ambiti 1 e 2) e 27,5% di riduzione nelle emissioni indirette (ambito 3) entro il 2030

Disneyland Paris si è posizionata come leader in questo settore grazie all’implementazione di diverse soluzioni concrete, come ad esempio l’utilizzo del suo parcheggio per gli ospiti di 20 ettari per costruire il più grande impianto solare a tettoia d’Europa. Questa costruzione, iniziata nel 2020 come co-investimento con il gruppo francese Urbasolar, coprirà 11.200 posti auto, tra cui spazi per auto, camper e autobus, quando sarà completata. L’installazione offre già ulteriori miglioramenti all’esperienza degli ospiti, come l’ombra e il riparo dalla luce diretta del sole, dalla pioggia o dalla neve. Questo ambizioso progetto produrrà 36 GWh all’anno, pari al consumo di una città di 17.400 abitanti. Ridurrà le emissioni di gas serra di circa 890 tonnellate di CO2 all’anno nel territorio della Val d’Europa. La terza sezione dell’impianto è ora operativa e produce 27 GWh di energia grazie ai 63.000 pannelli solari già installati. La costruzione della sezione finale è in corso.

Dalle operazioni quotidiane all’implementazione di nuovi e ambiziosi progetti, come l’installazione di una pensilina solare nel nostro parcheggio per gli ospiti, stiamo adottando più che mai un approccio deliberato per ridurre efficacemente la nostra impronta ambientale,“, afferma Natacha Rafalski, Presidente di Disneyland Paris.

Disneyland Paris utilizza anche l’energia geotermica per coprire il 18% del suo fabbisogno annuale. Questo rappresenta un contributo significativo alla riduzione dell’utilizzo di energia e delle emissioni per le operazioni dirette. Il resort ha anche implementato una politica di acquisti sostenibili come parte del suo piano di riduzione delle emissioni indirette.

Inoltre, per sensibilizzare ulteriormente e coinvolgere i nostri ospiti, la piattaforma digitale “My Green Butler” è attualmente in fase di sperimentazione presso il Disney Davy Crockett Ranch. Distribuita in alcuni bungalow, questa iniziativa permette agli ospiti di controllare il consumo di acqua ed elettricità durante il loro soggiorno.

Una forte attenzione ai materiali, ai rifiuti e all’economia circolare

In conformità con le normative francesi ed europee sulle pratiche anti-spreco e sull’economia circolare, Disneyland Paris ha sviluppato azioni come l’impiego di stoviglie riutilizzabili in tutti i ristoranti a servizio rapido. Altri progetti sono attualmente in fase di sperimentazione, come ad esempio due “agro-digestori” collegati all’impianto di trattamento delle acque reflue del resort, che consentono di trasformare completamente i rifiuti alimentari nell’acqua utilizzata per innaffiare le piante.

Anche le iniziative di riciclo e upcycling fanno parte della nostra strategia. Con migliaia di dipendenti che lavorano nelle aree operative e che utilizzano una quantità significativa di abiti, il resort ha una politica di riciclaggio per riutilizzare il tessuto dei costumi una volta che non possono più essere indossati. Questo rappresenta un obiettivo di riciclaggio annuale di 50.000 capi di abbigliamento all’anno. L’upcycling diventerà sempre più importante in futuro per ridurre i rifiuti e promuovere la sostenibilità delle risorse. Questo fa seguito al successo dell’upcycling del telone utilizzato durante la ristrutturazione del Castello della Bella Addormentata nel 2022.

Conservare le risorse idriche e ottimizzare i consumi: 4 milioni di metri cubi di acqua potabile risparmiati dal 2013 grazie a un impianto di trattamento delle acque reflue

Disneyland Paris è stato il primo parco a tema in Europa a dotarsi di un proprio impianto di trattamento delle acque reflue nel 2013 per i due parchi e l’hotel Disneyland. Il 95% dell’acqua trattata viene riutilizzata per vari scopi, come l’irrigazione di aree verdi o la pulizia di strade e marciapiedi. Per evitare di irrigare inutilmente, i team di orticoltura utilizzano un “sistema di irrigazione ragionato”, che prevede l’utilizzo della giusta quantità d’acqua in base alle esigenze delle piante. Dal 2013, grazie all’impianto sono stati risparmiati 4 milioni di metri cubi di acqua potabile.

Altre iniziative sperimentali sono in corso di realizzazione, come l’impiego di soffioni “Hydrao” nel Disney Sequoia Lodge e in alcuni bungalow del Disney Davy Crockett Ranch. Un periodo di test di successo nella primavera del 2022 ha dimostrato che questo divertente sistema che utilizza soffioni che cambiano colore ha contribuito a ridurre il consumo di acqua nelle docce fino al 22%.

Proteggere e incoraggiare la biodiversità grazie a 450 ettari di spazi verdi

Disneyland Paris ha da tempo puntato sulla conservazione della biodiversità all’interno del resort e mira a sensibilizzare bambini e adulti sull’importanza della conservazione dell’ambiente. Il team di paesaggisti, che rappresenta più di 100 Cast Members, si occupa quotidianamente di 450 ettari di spazi verdi, 330.000 arbusti e cespugli, 7.400 metri quadrati di aiuole, 33.000 alberi, oltre 20 specie di alberi da frutto e più di 50 varietà di fiori e piante selvatiche.

Il Disney Hotel Cheyenne dispone anche di un orto, con 245 metri quadrati di superficie coltivata su 470 metri quadrati di superficie totale. Questo orto permette di coltivare in modo biologico diverse varietà di ortaggi, frutta ed erbe aromatiche che verranno utilizzate dagli ospiti del Disney Hotel Cheyenne e del Disney Hotel Santa Fe.
