Disneyland Paris achèvera la dernière phase de la plus grande installation européenne de canopée solaire d’ici fin 2023.

La centrale à canopée solaire en construction à Disneyland Paris depuis 2020 produit déjà 27 GWh d’énergie et produira 36 GWh par an à son achèvement fin 2023. Cette initiative fait partie des actions du resort en faveur de l’environnement, soutenant les objectifs environnementaux 2030 de The Walt Disney Company. Spécifique à Disneyland Paris, certains domaines orientent les actions et les projets, notamment les émissions, les matériaux, les déchets et l’économie circulaire, la gestion de l’eau et la biodiversité.

Émissions : Réduction de 46,2 % des opérations directes (scopes 1 & 2) et de 27,5 % des émissions indirectes (scope. 3) d’ici 2030

Disneyland Paris s’est positionné en tant que leader dans cet espace en mettant en œuvre plusieurs solutions concrètes, comme l’utilisation de son parking pour invités de 20 hectares pour construire la plus grande usine de canopée solaire d’Europe. Cette construction, qui a débuté en 2020 dans le cadre d’un co-investissement avec le groupe français Urbasolar, couvrira 11 200 places de stationnement, y compris des espaces pour les voitures, les camping-cars et les bus lorsqu’elle sera terminée. L’installation permet déjà d’améliorer l’expérience des invités, comme l’ombre et l’abri contre la lumière directe du soleil, la pluie ou la neige. Ce projet ambitieux produira 36 GWh par an, soit la consommation d’une ville de 17 400 habitants. Il permettra de réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre d’environ 890 tonnes de CO2 par an sur le territoire de Val d’Europe. La troisième section de l’usine est maintenant opérationnelle et produit 27 GWh d’énergie grâce aux 63 000 panneaux solaires déjà installés. La construction de la dernière section est maintenant en cours.

Disneyland Paris utilise également l’énergie géothermique pour couvrir 18 % de ses besoins annuels. Cela représente une contribution significative à la réduction de l’utilisation de l’énergie et des émissions pour les opérations directes. Le centre de villégiature a également mis en place une politique d’achat durable dans le cadre de son plan de réduction des émissions indirectes.

De plus, pour sensibiliser davantage nos invités et les engager, la plateforme numérique “Mon majordome vert” est actuellement testée au Disney Davy Crockett Ranch. Déployée dans certains bungalows, cette initiative permet aux clients de contrôler leur consommation d’eau et d’électricité pendant leur séjour.

Une attention particulière portée aux matériaux, aux déchets et à l’économie circulaire.

Conformément aux réglementations françaises et européennes sur les pratiques anti-gaspillage et l’économie circulaire, Disneyland Paris a développé des actions telles que le déploiement de vaisselle réutilisable dans tous les restaurants à service rapide. D’autres projets sont actuellement testés, comme deux “agro-digesteurs” connectés à la station d’épuration de la station, permettant de transformer complètement les déchets alimentaires en eau utilisée pour l’arrosage des plantes.

Les initiatives de recyclage et d’upcycling font également partie de notre stratégie. Avec des milliers d’employés travaillant dans les zones opérationnelles, utilisant une quantité importante de vêtements, le centre de villégiature a une politique de recyclage pour réutiliser le tissu des costumes une fois qu’ils ne peuvent plus être portés. Cela représente un objectif de recyclage de 50 000 pièces de vêtements par an. L’upcycling deviendra de plus en plus important à l’avenir pour réduire les déchets et promouvoir la durabilité des ressources. Cela fait suite à l’upcycling réussi de la bâche utilisée lors de la rénovation du château de la Belle au bois dormant en 2022.

Préserver les ressources en eau et optimiser la consommation : 4 millions de mètres cubes d’eau potable économisés depuis 2013 grâce à une station d’épuration.

Disneyland Paris a été le premier parc à thème d’Europe à s’équiper de sa propre station d’épuration en 2013 pour ses deux parcs et le Disneyland Hotel. Quatre-vingt-quinze pour cent de l’eau traitée est réutilisée à diverses fins, comme l’arrosage des espaces paysagers ou le nettoyage des routes et des trottoirs. Pour éviter les arrosages inutiles, les équipes d’horticulture utilisent un “système d’irrigation raisonnée”, ce qui signifie que la bonne quantité d’eau est utilisée en fonction des besoins des plantes. Depuis 2013, 4 millions de mètres cubes d’eau potable ont été économisés grâce à l’usine.

D’autres initiatives expérimentales sont en cours de mise en œuvre, comme le déploiement de pommes de douche ‘Hydrao’ au Disney Sequoia Lodge et dans certains bungalows du Disney Davy Crockett Ranch. Une période de test réussie au printemps 2022 a montré que ce système ludique utilisant des pommes de douche à couleur changeante permettait de réduire la consommation d’eau dans les douches jusqu’à 22 %.

Protéger et encourager la biodiversité grâce à 450 hectares d’espaces verts.

Disneyland Paris met depuis longtemps l’accent sur la préservation de la biodiversité au sein du resort et vise à sensibiliser les enfants et les adultes à l’importance de la préservation de l’environnement. L’équipe d’aménagement paysager, qui représente plus de 100 Cast Members, s’occupe quotidiennement de 450 hectares d’espaces verts, 330 000 arbustes et buissons, 7 400 mètres carrés de parterres de fleurs, 33 000 arbres, plus de 20 espèces d’arbres fruitiers et plus de 50 variétés de fleurs sauvages et de plantes.

Le Disney Hotel Cheyenne dispose également d’un jardin potager, avec 245 mètres carrés de surface cultivée sur 470 mètres carrés de surface totale. Ce jardin permet la culture biologique de plusieurs variétés de légumes, de fruits et d’herbes aromatiques qui seront utilisés par les clients séjournant au Disney Hotel Cheyenne et au Disney Hotel Santa Fe.
