Disney Stars on Parade

Disney Stars on Parade was introduced for the 25th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris. It had a soft openingĀ  on March 25th, and was officially revealed on March 26th, 2017. The parade has eight floats helping guests discover Unique Worlds.

The theme song is called “Lost in the Magic”. The music written by Mark Hammond, the lyrics Carolyn Gardner. “Lost in the Magic” is mixed with different songs while the parade is running and it syncs up with the different themes and floats.

The Floats of Disney Stars on Parade

ā€œIn Disney Stars on Parade, we follow Mickey and Friends on a journey of discovery to the land of imaginationā€ explains Emmanuel Lenormand, the Show Director. ā€œWe started with the words that are most frequently used by our guests when they talk about Disneyland Paris. This helped us to create a story with eight chapters, and as many emotions. We then associated these emotions with major Disney and Pixar animated films that have proved a huge hit with the publicā€.

Float 1 – Discover the Magic

The parade opens with several characters dancing in front of the first float. While which characters depends on weather and other elements, often you can see Aladdin, Genie, Mary Poppins, Bert, Alice, Mad Hatter, Pinocchio and Tigger.

The Discover the Magic float that carries a storybook. On this float you will find Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n Dale. All of them are characters are dressed as explorers of the future.

Normally the storybook as seen on this float folds open and close, but this effect has not been seen working for a long time now. Depending on certain factors, it happens that Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy change positions or aren’t even on the float itself.

The theme song mixes with “A Whole New World” / “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”.

Float 2 – Discover Friendship

The second float takes its inspiration from Toy Story. Buzz, Woody and Jessie can be seen when this float passes. Buzz can see atop of the Pixar ball inside a space ship. Woody can be seen riding Slinky and Jessie is on the back of the float sitting on top of some play blocks.

Part of the float is as well a spinning wheel which holds acrobats. When this effect is working, it looks amazing. The float itself has loads of dancers as well dressed up as cowboys/girls and as the green soldiers. It makes for a really interactive part of the parade.

The theme song mixes with “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”.

Float 3 – Discover Adventure

On float three, two Disney animation films come together: The Lion King and The Jungle Book. Before the float appears we can see a bunch of monkey’s dance around along with some colorful plants. On the front part of the float you can see Zazu fly forward and Simba sitting at the front of the float looking at all guests. Timon and King Louie are on both sides dancing along with the music. Rafiki stands on top of the float, just below a sun with Simba’s face. The back part of the float we can see Kaa and Baloo on his tail. On the top branch we see Mowgli.

The theme song mixes with “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” / “The Bare Necessities” / “I Wanna Be Like You”

Float 4- Discover Imagination

Float 4 brings us to Neverland. Wendy and the Lost Boys dance in front of Skull Rock. While Smee can be seen on the shores of the rock, Captain Hook sits on top, turning around on what seems like a ship’s steering wheel. If he is not looking down on the guests, he is pointing his hook at Peter Pan. Peter Pan and some other Lost Boys can be found on the second part of this float which is a moon. Peter and the Lost Boys are rocking back and forth on a ship.

The theme song is mixed with “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” / “Following the Leader” / “The Second Star to the Right” / “A Pirate’s Life”

Float 5 – Discover a New World

From Neverland we go under the sea with Nemo and Friends. Marlin, Nemo, and Dory together with some seaweed dance in front of the float. On top of the float we can see Crush with his offspring. Who knew sea turtles could be this big!

The theme song mixes with “Beyond the Sea”.

Float 6 – Discover Enchantment

Time for to be enchanted. This float is based on Sleeping Beauty. Prince Philip is fighting evil which is represented by Maleficent in the shape of a dragon. While Prince Philip tries to fight off Maleficent, he is bothered by water. Several times during the parade, Maleficent will reach for the sky and breath fire. While it is an amazing view no matter where you are standing, we prefer standing in front of the castle for this.

The theme song mixes with “Battle With the Forces of Evil” / “Hail to the Princess Aurora”.

Float 7 – Discover Romance

Disney Fairy Tales all have romance in them. And the float bringing you all the romance is actually a set of carriages. Depending on the weather and some other elements, you will see a combination of some carriages and free roaming characters. All of them of course couples with the exception of the three fairies: Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, Arielle and Eric, Belle and Prince Adam, Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, Snow White and her Prince, and Princess Aurora.

The theme song is mixed with “Someday My Prince Will Come” / “I See the Light” / “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”

Float 8 – Wonder

And now it is time to go the ice castle of Princess Elsa. Kristoff and dancing ice crystals precede the last float. Pulling the Ice Castle is Olaf on Sven. On the balcony of the ice palace you will find Elsa and Anna. While the last float passes snow falls from the skies.

The theme song mixes with “For the First Time in Forever” / “Let It Go”.
