Portal zwischen dem, was real ist und dem, was imagin\u00e4r ist<\/h2>\n

Der Startpunkt unserer Reise ist die Main Street Station. Mehr als eine Station ist sie ein wahres Portal zwischen dem Realen und dem Imagin\u00e4ren.<\/p>\n

In Wirklichkeit entspricht der viktorianische Baustil der Eleganz der Main Street, U.S.A. und insbesondere dem Plaza Gardens Restaurant, das sich am anderen Ende der Stra\u00dfe befindet. Seine Geschichte ist eng mit der Entwicklung der Eisenbahn verbunden. Es gibt sogar Metalltreppen, die direkt von den New Yorker Hochbahnschienen des sp\u00e4ten 19. Jahrhunderts inspiriert sind.<\/p>\n

Was die imagin\u00e4re Seite betrifft, so nimmt sie gerne Anleihen bei anderen Disney-Parks, w\u00e4hrend sie die spezifische Geschichte von Disneyland Paris hervorhebt. Die Struktur des Bahnhofs, die den Zug auf beiden Seiten umgibt, ist der „It’s a Small World“-Attraktion des Disneyland Resorts nachempfunden, wo die Disneyland Railroad zwischen dem Uhrenturm und dem Hauptgeb\u00e4ude hindurchf\u00e4hrt – ein Detail, das sich auch im Disneyland Paris findet. Sie ist auch von der Monorail-Station im Disney’s Contemporary Resort im Walt Disney World Resort in Florida inspiriert.<\/p>\n

Hier ist die Main Street Station ein k\u00f6niglicher Weg, um die verschiedenen Ziele im Disneyland Park zu entdecken. Plakate und Glasfenster, die die verschiedenen L\u00e4nder zeigen, sind Einladungen zum Reisen, ein Vorgeschmack auf die Erlebnisse, die den Entdecker erwarten. Diese wurden von Eddie Sotto entworfen, der selbst von den eindrucksvollen Gem\u00e4lden im Restaurant Le Train Bleu am Gare de Lyon inspiriert wurde, die die verschiedenen Etappen der Reise darstellen, die die Passagiere auf der Zugstrecke Paris-Lyon-Marseille w\u00e4hrend der Belle Epoque erwarteten.<\/p>\n

Auf den Spuren der Pioniere<\/h2>\n

Wenige Augenblicke sp\u00e4ter betreten wir den Tunnel, der das Grand Canyon Diorama beherbergt und den \u00dcbergang zwischen Main Street, U.S.A. und Frontierland bildet. Dieses riesige, fast 80 Meter lange Panorama zeigt verschiedene Aspekte des spektakul\u00e4ren UNESCO-Welterbes. Wir entdecken die Tierwelt (mehr als 40 Tiere), die Flora und die alten Behausungen der amerikanischen Troglodyten, w\u00e4hrend die Ton- und Lichteffekte – wie ein Sturm und ein Regenbogen – den Realismus jedes Details vervollst\u00e4ndigen.<\/p>\n

Das Grand Canyon Diorama wurde sowohl von dem Oscar-pr\u00e4mierten Disney-Kurzfilm Grand Canyon von 1958 als auch von dem im selben Jahr im Disneyland Resort errichteten Diorama inspiriert. Die f\u00fcr das Projekt verantwortlichen Imagineers von Disneyland Paris, unter der Leitung von Jeff Burke, besuchten den Backstage-Bereich, als sie dort die Originalpl\u00e4ne des amerikanischen Modells besichtigten. F\u00fcr die Gestaltung des Dioramas wurde auch die dem Film und der Attraktion gemeinsame Musik verwendet, die Grand Canyon Suite des amerikanischen Komponisten Ferde Grof\u00e9 (1892-1972). Genauer gesagt verwendeten sie das Segment „On the Trail“, gespielt von den Graunke Symphonikern – jetzt bekannt als die M\u00fcnchner Symphoniker – die auch die Musik f\u00fcr das „Peter und der Wolf“-Segment von The Music Box (1946) aufgenommen hatten.<\/p>\n

Mit Volldampf voraus!<\/h2>\n

Nach unserer Fahrt entlang der atemberaubenden Landschaft der Rivers of the Far West machen wir hier einen Halt am Frontierland Depot. Wie der Name schon sagt, handelt es sich bei der Haltestelle Frontierland nicht um einen Bahnhof im eigentlichen Sinne. Es ist ein Depot, in dem die Z\u00fcge anhalten k\u00f6nnen, um zu tanken und Wasser nachzuf\u00fcllen – dank seines Wasserturms mit einer Kapazit\u00e4t von \u00fcber 7.000 Litern – genug, um Dampf f\u00fcr drei Runden um den Park zu liefern!<\/p>\n

Das Frontierland Depot liegt verkehrsg\u00fcnstig am Rande der Cottonwood Creek Ranch. Zur Zeit des Baus im Jahr 1865 erleichterte seine Lage den Viehtransport vom Stall zu den Viehwagen. Heute bef\u00f6rdert die Disneyland Railroad nur noch Passagiere, aber der alte Critter Corral und das scheunenf\u00f6rmige Cowboy Cookout Barbecue Restaurant, das hinter dem Bahnhof zu sehen ist, erinnern an ihre urspr\u00fcngliche Funktion.<\/p>\n

Dank der Zusammenarbeit von Architekt Ahmad Jafari und Designer Pat Burke ist das Frontierland Depot fast eine exakte Nachbildung der allerersten Frontierland Station im Disneyland Resort in Kalifornien. Es ist eine M\u00f6glichkeit, diesen historischen Ort, der 1966 zur Er\u00f6ffnung des New Orleans Square umgestaltet wurde, wieder zum Leben zu erwecken. Wie bei seinem kalifornischen Pendant kann man beim Vorbeigehen am Schalter des Controllers immer noch im Morsecode die ersten Worte h\u00f6ren, die Walt Disney w\u00e4hrend seiner Er\u00f6ffnungsrede zur Er\u00f6ffnung von Disneyland am 17. Juli 1955 sprach: „An alle, die an diesen gl\u00fccklichen Ort kommen: Willkommen!“ Ein echtes Symbol!<\/p>\n
