Von einem Kontinent zum anderen<\/h2>\n

Seit 1955, als das Disneyland Resort erbaut wurde, sind die Dampfz\u00fcge zu einer Ikone der Disney Parks auf der ganzen Welt geworden. Einerseits tragen sie auf der Main Street, U.S.A. – ihrem Ausgangspunkt – zur Nostalgie bei, die Walt so sehr am Herzen liegt, und andererseits bieten sie einen \u00dcberblick \u00fcber den Park – sie umkreisen ihn – und definieren so die Grenzen des Traums.<\/p>\n

Es war daher nur nat\u00fcrlich, dass Disneyland Paris seine eigene Disneyland Railroad haben sollte.<\/p>\n

Um es zu entwerfen, folgte Imagineer Eddie Sotto den Spuren von Walt Disney und besuchte das Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn – das Walt selbst w\u00e4hrend seines Aufenthalts in Chicago 1948 besucht hatte – sowie das California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento und das Travel Town Museum in Los Angeles. Die vier Z\u00fcge in Disneyland Paris wurden nach dem urspr\u00fcnglichen Disneyland-Modell, dem C.K. Holliday, entworfen. Aufgrund der vielen Hinweise und Informationen, die der Imagineer bei diesen Besuchen gesammelt hat, wissen wir, dass die Z\u00fcge umgestaltet und an die spezifischen Bed\u00fcrfnisse und die Geschichte unseres europ\u00e4ischen Parks angepasst wurden.<\/p>\n

Jeder Zug besteht aus einer 4-4-0 („American“)-Lokomotive, einem „Tender“ – einem Spezialwagen, der Wasser und Treibstoff f\u00fcr den Betrieb der Lokomotive enth\u00e4lt – und f\u00fcnf Waggons, in denen jeweils etwa 50 Personen Platz finden. F\u00fcr das Innere der Waggons hatte Imagineer Tony Baxter die Idee, die B\u00e4nke U-f\u00f6rmig anzuordnen, so dass sie an der Seite des Waggons herausschauen und nicht wie in anderen Disney Parks hintereinander. So k\u00f6nnen die Fahrg\u00e4ste die Aussicht besser genie\u00dfen, sei es auf die verschiedenen Disneyland Paris Lands oder den Grand Canyon, zu dem wir sp\u00e4ter noch kommen werden.<\/p>\n

Jeder Zug hat seine eigene Pers\u00f6nlichkeit<\/h2>\n

In der Tradition der verschiedenen Versionen der Disneyland Railroad und unter Bezugnahme auf die Geschichte Amerikas; dennoch hat jeder Zug seine eigene Identit\u00e4t mit spezifischen Designs und dekorativen Elementen.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Der erste Zug, der von Eddie Sotto entworfen wurde (auch wenn er die Nr. 3 ist), ehrt den ersten Pr\u00e4sidenten der Vereinigten Staaten, den G. Washington.<\/p>\n

Ein „pr\u00e4sidialer“ Zug, sorgf\u00e4ltig verziert mit einem geschnitzten Adler, Sternmotiven auf den Achsen der R\u00e4der und eleganten Buntglasfenstern.<\/p>\n

Die Lokomotive Nr. 2, die C.K. Holliday, ist nach der ersten Dampflok im Disneyland benannt. Es ist auch der Name von Colonel Cyrus Kurtz Holliday (1826-1900), dem Gr\u00fcnder der Santa Fe Railroad, den Walt gut kannte. Seine Ausstattung, insbesondere die Farben, das Buntglas und die Kupferlampen, verweisen auf den viktorianischen Stil der Main Street, U.S.A.<\/p>\n

Die Lokomotive Nr. 1 wurde von der Lilly Belle inspiriert. Sie wurde von Walt f\u00fcr sein Haus in Holmby Hills gebaut und nach seiner Frau Lillian benannt. Sie war die allererste Lokomotive und wurde wiederum zum Vorbild f\u00fcr den Prototyp des Zuges im Disneyland Resort. Die Version in Disneyland Paris tr\u00e4gt den Namen W.F. Cody, eine Hommage an den ber\u00fchmten Buffalo Bill, dessen richtiger Name William Frederick Cody war. Nat\u00fcrlich finden Sie es in der Attraktion Legends of the Wild West im Frontierland.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Die letzte und neueste Maschine, Nr. 4, verdankt ihren Spitznamen „Eureka“ („Ich habe gefunden“ auf Griechisch) dem ber\u00fchmten Schlachtruf der „Forty-Niners“ w\u00e4hrend des Goldrausches sowie dem griechischen Wissenschaftler Archimedes, als er das Prinzip, die Auftriebskraft, entdeckte, das heute seinen Namen tr\u00e4gt. Der Name verbindet also Frontierland und Discoveryland auf verbl\u00fcffend eing\u00e4ngige Weise. Beachten Sie, dass bei der Er\u00f6ffnung von Euro Disneyland im Jahr 1992 nur drei Z\u00fcge in Betrieb waren, der G. Washington, der C.K. Holliday und der W.F. Cody, und dass der Park nur drei Bahnh\u00f6fe hatte: Main Street Station, Frontierland Depot und Fantasyland Station. Aufgrund des Erfolges des Parks im Allgemeinen und der Disneyland Railroad im Besonderen wurde im darauffolgenden Jahr eine vierte Station im Discoveryland in Betrieb genommen, ebenso wie ein vierter Zug, dessen Thema und Name Eureka den Entdeckergeist der amerikanischen Pioniere und Vision\u00e4re treffend widerspiegelt.<\/p>\n
