“Characters missing during Half Marathon Weekend at Disneyland” [Updated]

Participants of the 5k run during the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend noticed this morning that no characters were available to take photos with. According to a post in the Facebook group runDisneyRun characters were only available on one spot, but runners had to stay at a distance.
One member of this Facebook group spoke to Expo CMs and was told that this was a test and that it would also apply to the 10k. This is supposedly done to prevent route congestion from occurring. Whether this would also be the case for the half marathon is not sure.
Understandably runners were not really happy with this change, especially as for some runners characters is one of the reasons to participate in a runDisney event.

Being it because of the numerous complaints, or just ‘a change’. Character were present during the 10k. Let’s wait and see what will happen tomorrow during the Half.
